Sean Maynard, Certified Master Fitness Instructor and Optimal Wellness & Hormone Health Practitioner, identified the missing factor in optimizing women’s health and fitness results when he started working with the general population at fitness clubs in 2016.

Before working with the GP, Sean worked with competitive athletes for six years. Sean realized his passion was helping those who were not in the best shape or health achieve optimal wellness. He left the competitive athlete world, closed his restaurant down for 15 years, and set out to help people achieve their optimal health goals as he had done just six years prior before getting into the fitness world.

At this moment, Sean saw many women come into various gyms and fitness clubs he was working with and spend thousands of dollars on private training and nutrition and not be able to obtain their desired results. Sean was puzzled and extremely frustrated that he could help a female athlete make it to the stage for a competition, but for some reason, many women in the same demographics who were not athletes were not getting the same results.

Sean called his Functional Wellness provider and asked Dr. Davis if he would check some of his clients’ bloodwork to see if there might be some dysfunction or imbalances within their metabolic and hormone markers that would be preventing their success with the fitness and nutrition program. The results revealed the hidden answers as to why the body was not having greater improvements with their program, hormone depletion, and imbalances.

It was the “ah ha” moment. See, the women athletes that Sean had coached who were in their 30’s-50’s usually were supplementing anabolics. This enhanced their hormonal profile to achieve peak physical performance but what Sean did not know was how important the hormones in the body were to everyday people. With the new finding from Dr. Davis, he started working with Sean’s clients to help them optimize their hormonal deficiencies and imbalances. In conjunction with Sean’s fitness and nutrition programming, women from 35-75 years of age started seeing dramatic results really fast.

This lit a fire in Sean to learn more about the body’s endocrine system and as it relates to health and fitness and, more specifically, women’s hormone functions and their effects on their bodies as they age. Sean attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where he learned every dietary theory and hormone health from an integrative approach to improving hormone function.  This is when “The 3NFH Method, Nutrition, Fitness, and Hormones” was born.
